CR MEME #2
▶ MAKE FRIENDS, INFLUENCE PEOPLE

Welcome to our second CR Meme!
We have amended our original plans so that the CR meme will be posted every 2 months. As new players and characters arrive, they can hash out connections that came before their game play begins, as well as plot out new game play. Specifically, this could also be a good venue to find ship crews that are looking for new crew mates, and for prospective crew mates to find new ship crews.
Please fill out the form below for your character, and then comment around to other characters! Also be sure to check back as more people filter in.
For your reference, your previous CR meme is here.

Character name: Luke Skywalker
Canon: Star Wars
Job/Role: Pilot trainee
General Reputation: The extraction process and recovery period was notoriously difficult for Luke. He's been reluctant to let go of his former life and has been rather open and stubborn about clinging to old habits and memories. The only thing he's been quite eager to get rid of is his status as a Jedi. The Force is no longer with him, it never even existed, and to Luke it was the one thing he could always count on. That's been the hardest thing for him to accept and Luke has a lot of anger and resentment attached to it.
Despite all that, Luke is kind and compassionate at his core and when he wasn't rocking in a corner he was helping people wherever he could.
It's been about two and a half months since his extraction. His outbursts and breakdowns are at a minimum these days and he's somehow managed to get himself a position on the hovercraft Phoenix, though the rumors are that he only got it because the captain is his best friend. Luke is eager to prove to them that he deserves to be there.
Looking For: Anything but especially friends. Luke could really use some friends in this place. And if your character is easily trolled, beware because Luke likes to troll. I'd also like to maybe establish who he first met when he was extracted since that wasn't played out.
It might be fun if Luke met some people who he can really relate to as far as Matrix experiences, losing family, fighting wars, etc... It also looks like he might be taking on a sort of counselor position on the Phoenix, lol. It just kinda happened. Come talk to him if you have troubles, I guess.

Character name: Wedge Antilles
Canon: Star Wars
Job/Role: Hovercraft Captain/Mechanic
General Reputation: No nonsense and militaristic, Wedge exudes leadership. In his Matrix, Wedge was a seasoned pilot who was promoted to general based on talent, not politics. Has a keen sense for people's skills, both how to bring them out and how to utilize them. Unlike what's typical for high-ranking officers, he genuinely cares about the welfare of his crew. He's also technically minded, purposely working as a mechanic for six months to be well acquainted with the hovercrafts he hoped to fly. Has a noted interest in rehabilitating problem cases.
However, he greatly dislikes politics, and easily chafes (and downright disobeys and, worst of cases, deserts) if he thinks an order is morally bankrupt/nonsensical/dangerous to the good of all. His only saving grace in this area is that he has great instincts, so he's usually right.
Has a habit of trolling as a coping mechanic, which can be infuriating because he's a fairly impassive person i.e his face is permanently stuck in neutral, which makes him hard to read.
Looking For:
He's also a greasemonkey from the womb, so characters who are technologically inclined will find a great mechanic/engineer in Wedge.

ANDERS
Character name: Anders.
Canon: Dragon Age.
Job/Role: Medic. (Also helps to run a clinic.)
General Reputation: Anders has been unplugged for two years. A lot of that time has been spent adjusting to a world that is incredibly different from his swords-and-sorcery home Matrix. He has also been struggling severely with his mental health and is still of two minds about the philosophy of ethics in the Matrix. However! While he no longer has his spirit healing, Anders has spent a significant amount of time time learning more about treating patients without magic, and using simulations. He trained in a clinic for Zion citizens on the living levels, mostly general practice with a side focus on obstetrics and pathology, and has recently taken on more responsibility for the daily running of the clinic.
Within the last four months he has also started working sporadically with the Zion Defense Grid as a dockside medic. He has flown out with a couple of ships a couple of times and is always available for missions where injured people are highly likely (recovering crashed ships for instance.) It is, however, notable that he doesn't want to go back into the Matrix.
Anders himself is one part angry social justice mage, one part broody antihero, one part court jester. He's flirtatious (though he's cohabitating with Hawke and they've got a pretty serious relationship under their belt so good luck getting any further), passionate, capable of serious generosity and good bedside manner as well as sarcasm, selfishness and sharpness, and misses cats almost more than being able to shoot fireballs.
Looking For:
• Recruitment CR. Thedas Matrix is a mess but if your character is coming in with two years or more under their belt and could have been on the team that extracted Anders, hit me up.
• Sim Training CR. Anders may not jack in to the real Matrix but he enjoys sims. I'm also still cool if anyone wants to hit up his open log and accidentally plug into his kitten sim.
• Patients, or former patients.
• Fellow medics - The doctor who trained him is an NPC named Dr. Li but I don't have much headcanon for her.
• Hawke's CR and Hawke's crewmates. Points to eyes, points to you.
• Literally anyone to chat with.
Notes: In his own world, he had merged with a spirit of Justice that was the instigator of a fixed point of conflict in the Thedas Matrixes. Now aware that he is effectively carrying an AI with him at all times, Anders misses his magic but is wary of risking his autonomy by allowing Justice access to him again. In the real world, he's coping with being free but also has occasional hallucinations of the spirit still being within him.
While Anders has started to talk about Justice now that Fenris and Hawke are present, he hasn't really told anyone about Justice's ability to use his Matrix body for its own ends, even though it's obviously a huge security risk.
BLACK WIDOW
Character name: Natasha Romanoff, going by Black Widow.
Canon: MCU.
Job/Role: Operator (trainee) aboard the Phoenix.
General Reputation: Natasha proved very adaptable upon her extraction from the Matrix by Johanna, and dedicated nearly four months to intensive physical training in order to get back on her feet and recover some of her skills. She has a strong and marked interest in Zion politics and history, in native Zion culture, and has been integrating herself with people surrounding the council. Recently she signed up with the ZDG as an Operator as the first step in her ambition. Right now that means she's basically living, eating and breathing Matrix code.
Despite the fact that she immediately gave up her old name and life, and that she is definitely of the argument that the Matrix meant nothing and the freedom of the real world is far better, she's been heavily in communication with people from her own world, to the point that she deliberately investigates anyone who she discovers came from "her" Matrix. Her loyalty to Steve Rogers probably trumps just about anything else Zion has to offer, so it's probably a good thing they're on the same ship.
Finally, Natasha has also created an alternate persona named "Yaga" whose personality and appearance is still somewhat in a trial period but whose purpose is basically espionage, because old habits die hard.
Looking For:
• Mentor-mentee stuff could be fun, in either direction.
• People to train with in whatever area.
• Anyone who wants to do political machinations with me, any plots related to the Council NPCs, etc.
• NEW PEOPLE gimme new characters.
• Basically anything? She talks to a lot of people so if we already have vague CR she might show up in your life, especially if you have anything that's useful to her or she finds you interesting.
Notes: Avengers: AOU only dealt vaguely with Natasha's backstory, and so while I'm being very careful with spoilers out of consideration for anyone who hasn't seen the movie yet, unless we're getting into the details of her past it shouldn't come up. Her canonpoint is still post-Cap2.

Character name: Fenris
Canon: Dragon Age
Job/Role: Operative on the Atalanta
General Reputation: PROBABLY STILL TOO FRESH (to death) FOR THIS. It is coming on three months now, though, so a few people have probably seen him glare irritably at them / stumble into a wall / drink too much. In general he's standoffish, taciturn, and quick to leave a conversation he doesn't like. HOWEVER, if he's caught in a generally good mood (because he's a little drunk or because he made it through the day without tripping, an increasingly common occurrence), people would find him--well, still taciturn, but possessed of a decent sense of humor and an observant eye, at least.
Looking For:
CREW--While he may not be looking to make best friends out of everyone (he doesn't need that to work effectively in a team), he certainly wants to be more aware of his crewmates and who they are.
SIM--Fenris has been using the training sims to A, figure out what a gun is and B, presently, to learn how to shoot one effectively. However, he's also using the sim to stay brushed up on his swordsmanship. So combat with a side of combat, basically. LET'S FITE
GENERAL--He's not always the easiest guy to get along with, but he makes a damned loyal friend if you're willing to put in the effort. If he's not training/on a mission, he's at the bar. He likes playing cards and, more recently, reading. Because he taught himself how to do that via sim and he's pretty (quietly) excited about it.
I don't have any specific wants for CR, THOUGH I always like relationships that challenge a character's long-held beliefs and prejudices. There will be a glacial shift towards this even without outside assistance; being unplugged and going through the whole 'my life was a liiie' thing has forced Fenris to start developing an identity separate from his past. It's something he was trying to do even back in Thedas, but not with any particular rush--now he has no choice. Meeting more and different people will help speed that along, help him move on. Maybe help him be less of an antisocial jerk? Eventually.
Notes: When his hair fully grows back, he's going to leave it a bit long and wear it in a ponytail. Because he's glad it's black.

Character name: Tony Stark
Canon: Marvel Cinematic Universe
Job/Role: Civilian Mechanic/Technologist, Operator/Trainer
General Reputation: As of last month, he is contracting his services to the ZDG to assist with teaching operator trainees. It's certainly a far cry from enlisting, but it constitutes a surprising change for anyone who has been following his career. Lately, he has also made it known to anyone with network access, that he spies on the Council periodically. He's more or less behaving as a whistleblower, though certainly falling short of treason. These two events may well be related.

Character name: Gideon (formerly "Dorian Pavus")
Canon: Dragon Age
Job/Role: Educator
General Reputation: Gideon is fresh to Zion, so he likely does not have a reputation yet! But spent a couple of years in Antioch. His first few months, he was a hot mess, but after he sorted himself out, he was a much-beloved member of the community and had a small school where he taught reading, writing, and arithmetic.
Looking For: No interest in joining a crew just yet. I'd like Gideon to be able to play at being just a normal man for a while. People to teach, people to meet and schmooze? People he can gently dance around his past with. Bring me all of the slice of life bullshit for the moment, I want to wallow in it.
Notes: Gideon looks/sounds roughly the same as Dorian, if a little worn around the edges and with not as much of the usual mirth all the time.

AHEM also I play Horse, who is a military lifer. If you'd like to get hooked in to that, I'd love to do so through her. She isn't currently assigned to a crew herself, but she's very invested in the Grid, so she'd happily sell him the lifestyle in her own way. Which will probably just involve a lot of weird pranks and loud comments and alcohol and a pretty red flower being slotted into his headjack.

Character name: Lily Cohen
Canon: Fallout 3
Job/Role: Doctor, thief, prospective DJ
General Reputation: This really depends on how well you know her, whether you think she's actually helpful, and what side of the law you happen to be on. She runs a free clinic, called the Warren Clinic, out of a few reclaimed apartments on the lowest level of the residential district of Zion; it runs partially on donations and partially on 'borrowed' things she can manage to snatch. In general, she's got very sticky fingers, as well as a low opinion of the Zion council and a strong belief in humanity's ability to collectively govern itself.
She is also decently acquainted with Irkalla and considers it her responsibility to keep tabs on the black market there and in Zion, less to actually police it and more for gossip and goods. She's always got a sharp ear for juicy details and is very good at filing information away to use later, if the opportunity arises.
In general, despite her less savory qualities, she goes out of her way to do good when she can; there's a reason most of her pilfered objects don't remain in her possession for long. She doesn't steal anything she can recognize as essential to its owners, and in general will not touch medical supplies if they've already been purchased(she won't rob a hospital or a private first aid kit). This does mean that she occasionally has to use makeshift things, but she's good at improvising.
Looking For: Any CR. All CR! I'd especially like some connections to both medically-oriented characters and shady types, especially since she's been unplugged for two years, so she'd have cultivated contacts there. Previous patients of hers would be cool too!
Also, I'd like to ask captains if it would be okay, sometimes, to have her sneak on board their ships, and thus participate in plots that need them. This wouldn't be all the time, and of course I'd ask first, but I wanted to mention it. She does stow away semi-regularly(usually with npcs to make it simpler), so if you've caught her on board a few times before that could be fun. c:
Regarding the 'prospective dj' bit: Lily is working on making a (mod-approved) radio station! Many of her setbacks on this have been with regards to infrastructure, but she'll want to go into the Matrix often to record songs from different worlds(meaning, anything [that she likes] i can get a youtube link for). CR in that general direction would be awesome too.
Notes: Lily will be pretty closed about potentially dangerous shenanigans; she trusts herself to get through pretty much anything unscathed, but doesn't like people to worry about/try and stop her. I would REALLY like to do this modplot, but it requires several people and would need some planning.

Character name: Thor Odinson
Canon: Marvel Cinematic Universe
Job/Role: Would-be pilot.
General Reputation: Depends on who you ask. About a year and change ago, he had the unfortunate luck to be on a ZDG crew that was dismantled due to bad practice and civilian deaths when they wrongfully engaged a pirate hovercraft full of refugees. He went by the terrible callsign of 'Bolt' at the time and didn't make his identity well known. Regardless, he left for Antioch to restart, focusing on hard labour for the express purpose of grounding himself as well as building back his strength. He also got some sweet tattoos.
And learned how to pilot! He is pretty good, by now. Gotta fly somehow.
Looking For: Past CR for anyone with an Antioch tie in and possibly brief ZDG encounters (or people who have heard about the Incident). I have vague designs to join the Atalanta. But anyone, really, come at me.
Notes: I have left it vague the means of which he enters the game. There are designs for canon mates to dig him up from where he is buried (I've approached Natasha player already!) or otherwise a short stay in Zion turns into a longer one due to friendship. If you'd like to have an in, there, due to Avengers or Antioch connections, feel free to lift a hand.

Character name: Garrett "8D" Hawke
Canon: Dragon Age
Job/Role: Pilot (trainee) on the Atalanta; jack of all applicable trades
General Reputation: LESSEE UM. He's been unplugged for about 90 days at this poooint; the first point of 'reputation' he ever acquires anywhere is that he does not take anything seriously. Anything. The second is - I hope - that despite the flippancy he's invested in excelling at anything he tries, from piloting on down. If he doesn't have a niche where he feels useful he gets incredibly restless, so ...idk if you pay attention to his overall happiness/quality of life (in otherwise if you're Anders) that picked up significantly after he got a crew position, trainee or not. Umm let's see. He has an accent like a poncy BBC announcer, if that means anything to your character, except with more swearing.
TL;DR: gregarious, high-energy wiseass.
Looking For: Steals this from previous CR meme: Starter CR, so to speak--he's a babby in terms of the real world, so most already-established CR is going to center around what ship and extraction team approached him, who he'd have been in contact with during recovery on the Shangrila, what veteran/s put up with him doing the Jump program eight hundred times in a row until he got it right, etc.
As would just garden variety friends! Unless a person is utterly put off by staunch refusal to take things seriously - verbally, anyway - he's easy to get along with, and canonically his ability to Frand encompasses oh, fighting giant horned people, gathering gunpowder materials, acting as the world's long-sufferingest crush-go-between, etc.
ON THE OTHER HAND it is of course utterly reasonable to have written him off as a total goofball, too. Additionally although he's not really a debater unless absolutely pushed into it, he's pretty firm on the idea that if unplugging a person is going to hurt more than help, they should be left where they damn well are. S-o if you'd like negative, or at least fractious CR over ethics, there's a thing. It can actually be a thing in general, although Hawke likes most people and tends to find people disliking him just kind of. Funny. Unless you murdered his mom, he really didn't like that guy.
If you are on the Atalanta's crew I would really like at least a handwavey relationship, because Hawke is uh. Difficult to ignore.
Lastly he has a tendency to appear in the vicinity of that one blond medic dude, so if your character knows Anders they've probably at least met Hawke.
Notes: He does go pretty much universally by his surname; if you happen to know the full version for whatever reason, shouting 'Garrett' across a crowded room means you will probably get the attention of three people who aren't him. That's probably a sign that he hasn't shrugged of his ~Old Life~ quite yet, as is the fact that he lives with the dude he was essentially married to in his Matrix.

Job/Role: newly minted operative with the Atalanta
General Reputation: About five months out from unplugging, Emily's taken the opportunity to chat with people when it comes up, but she's largely been watching and listening. Recently, she's been logging a lot of sim hours, too, trying to get herself up to speed on Matrix operations and picking up combat skills.
Looking For: I would love to keep developing cr with literally everyone Emily has talked with so far - this means you, for real. Overall, she's getting oriented enough now that she knows she's going to be needing some allies in her new reality. First order of business is getting to know Atalanta crew, but if you want her elsewhere, let me know and we can figure out a means of crossing paths. She's the cat curiosity will kill, she gets into everything.
Notes: Someone needs to teach her about the enjoyable parts of texting. Also, Bloom, I am so very sorry but you have her attention now. So... oops?

Also dranks. And sim stuff. He can program sims so that could be interesting!
EDIT: OOps i forgot yes also William. He's not a very teacherlike teacher so they could definitely hang, party, talk about their respective worlds in a more personal way than Tony is inclined tbh. Looking For: People not bothered by her laconic nature!! I will do my very best not to let it impact threads and force them to a standstill, though sometimes it might. No (overly) negative CR pls. The easiest CR hook for her would probably be people who have had combat experience in their matrix as well and who have a bit of a soldier-mentality, because it's such a huge aspect of who she is, and it would put CR on equal footing. Also people from very different matrices to compare notes!! Nidhoggr CR and anyone who has ever observed her and Cage also 100% welcome to bug her about it even tho it'll result in lots of :|-ing from her side

JOHANNA
Character name: Johanna Mason
Canon: the Hunger Games
Job/Role: Pilot on the Nidhoggr
General Reputation: Pretty much the same reputation as she's had for years: bitchy. Unplugged from her Matrix for a year and a half, Johanna was quick to get started in training as an operative and then, to bump up her credentials, trained as a pilot, in order to make herself a more attractive addition to any captain seeking fresh meat. She spent about half a year hopping from ship to ship trying to find a crew that she can stand and who can, subsequently, stand her in return. She's known for her risk-taking and her bad attitude, but she's trying to play nicer these days, if only so she doesn't blacklist herself. She would like to plug into the Matrix more often than she has the chance to--not to play the hero, and not because she misses her home so much--but for the adrenaline rush.
Looking For:
- With official crew postings, Johanna is now the official pilot of the Nidhoggr, which means I'm going to have to start learning to spell Nidhoggr right on the first go. This ALSO means that I would like to develop and further all CR with crewmates, so, hi guys!!
- To this end: MISSIONS. I want to get some missions. I want to get in the Matrix. Get over here and help!!!
- People to train with! She frequently plugs into training sims, to keep herself current. She can be bitchy but can also come to respect people based on talent and tenacity (kind of).
- People to be mean to! Do you like negative CR? Do you like people being mean to your floppy baby? I got you.
- Friends....? She is actually kind of capable of making friends so if you want to be on her good side let's go for it. Also included in this category: FWB. Who doesn't like casual hookups.

Character name: Isabella Sheridan
Canon: System Shock
Job/Role: Computer Scientist
General Reputation: You may know Isabella; it is unlikely you are particularly close to her. She tends to be very cordial, but hard to get to know. She typically sustains relationships that procure some benefit or utility, which frankly can make her seem like a user. This is not necessarily unfair. However she does sometimes enjoy people just for themselves, and she is warm towards those she enjoys. She is also sympathetic towards people who are struggling to adapt to reality, a topic about which she is unusually willing to open up.
She's been on a number of low-risk missions, generally to fill a technical role either in-Matrix or out, and while she does not yet have the experience or status for the position of operator, she does have the aptitude. It's not likely that she's been in a serious confrontation whilst away, but if there was trouble, she would have reacted with more strained competence than dynamic valor.
While at home, she's most likely to be found at her quarters, working on her terminal more often than not, or at the bazaar, browsing the latest goods that have flown into Zion. Occasionally she'll be found seeking some quite reflection in whatever Temple alcove is presently unused, making herself scarce if people show up to actually, you know, pray.
Looking For:
Extraction CR - Isabella's extraction must have been very purposeful; she was too old and too deeply rooted in her world to make her retrieval anything but a considerable risk to both her and the team sent to gather her limp material form. It's easy enough, however, to imagine why her skillset might be deemed useful. If anyone would like to take credit for yanking her out of her digital dream, please hit me up and we can cook up some back story- and perhaps some future plans!
Server Surfing CR - It took some time for Isabella to assemble her ramshackle home programming terminal, and for the months it took to manage she was forced either to fit in her personal projects around work on the ZDG's terminals, or to talk her way into using someone else's personal equipment. If you were in possession of actually functioning programming equipment in the last year, and would have been willing to let her borrow some time on it, you might already be acquainted. She'd have willingly offered recompense, too, usually in the form of some programming assistance - improving data architecture, slimming down code, and generally lending (to her mind, at least) a polished elegance to your software.
The Home Rig - Her home terminal setup is a nightmarish amalgam of salvaged, refurbished and straight out repurposed junk. It works most of the time- that much can be said for it. Otherwise, for obvious reasons she is always looking to improve/upgrade it, so if you have something that could help in that ongoing project, she'd love to hear from you. Also, if you can't make any cooler, better equipped friends, she may be persuaded to let you use her rig, though only under her strict and hawk-eyed supervision.
Missions - Best suited to technical tasks and as operator back-up, she's on the whole quite bright and focused- if not a team player by nature. Generally available for anything that isn't too scary, and up for something a little intense if sufficiently incentivized. Specifically, she harbors a fascination for the works of machines, so many generations removed from their human-created forebears. Anything involving machine-tech salvage will be of great interest to her. She is particularly interested in procuring any components of AI code, and wants, very badly, to some day capture a 'live' AI.
Projects - The temptation to spend altogether too much time in simulation is ever-present for Isabella. Having something to do keeps her from relapsing into reality-rejection. Offer her something to apply her talents to and she'll usually throw herself into the task.
Notes: She doesn't wear it on her sleeve, but Isabella's ambition is considerable- both for herself and a free and sovereign human species. While she's not yet meaningfully engaged in politics, she will likely seize the chance if offered, and will be more inclined towards aggressively (if intelligently) pro-human policies.

General Reputation: Arthur is quick-minded and working to get his body back to where it was. He's excellent with details and has dedicated himself to learning and adjusting to his new life. He's a hard worker, stiff and serious when there's work to be done, but he can clock out when he's on his own time. Outwardly, he seems oddly well-adjusted about being unplugged, cracking jokes and making friends.
Unlike many people, who come out of rehab still very bald and thin, Arthur spent several months in a psychiatric ward. It's not something he would advertise, but anyone who was extracted around the time he was (about five months ago) might have heard or seen his erratic behavior. He spent several months there where he started to work on getting his muscles and dexterity back and so by the time he was out and living on his own, he didn't look nearly as new as he was to the city.
While the name Arthur has slipped out a few times and isn't a well-kept secret, he very resolutely goes by his callsign "Point".
Looking For: I would love to find characters who don't mind pushing back at Arthur or even pressing his buttons and building up some banter. In general, friends and allies would be great, maybe even some flirtations. Antagonistic rivalries could also be something fun to play with.
His biggest struggle is accepting that this is reality and while he is outwardly playing along, he's only about half sure that it is. That's something I really want to explore with him and I would love to find characters who might have similar struggles or who would compliment the situation.
I also want him to go on some missions and really put his skills to the test.
Notes: He wants his nice clothes back. :(

Character name: Kate Bishop
Canon: Marvel Comics
Job/Role: Captain of the Atalanta
General Reputation: Kate has been unplugged for about 5 years, and has worked as an operative for the ZDG for nearly all of that time. She worked hard and she worked a lot and it has recently paid off as she was named one of the two new captains and handed her very own midweight warship full of newbs. She's also spent some of her downtime between jaunts helping with training (both in and out of matrix combat, primarily) and occasionaly unofficial local law enforcement in Zion (read: vigilante superheroing stuff).
Looking For: I owe a bunch of people log posts right now, mostly related to the new ship. I'm definitely looking to get crew RP going, maybe get a low clearance mission under our belt. In-Matrix RP needs to happen also, preferably with dragons?? Aside from that I'd like to solidify Kate's ties in Zion and better sketch out her other cr from training, neighbors, friends, side-projects, things not so ZDG-focused. I don't have a lot of specific wants right now, but I'm always open to ideas!

Character name: Kitty Jones
Canon: The Bartimaeus series
Job/Role: Waitress :')
General Reputation: She doesn't have much of a reputation as of yet. She bounced back very quickly from being unplugged, physically and mentally, but she's a kid still, so that's not all that unusual. She took up work pretty much right away at a restaurant in Zion, and so that's how many people might have seen her: she's highly competent and friendly and quite charming, both willing to take and to give guff to her customers. However, she would have squirmed out of any attempts to get to know her better - e.g., hanging out outside of work, even learning anything about her background.
She also has been sniffing around the sim-stations, but has yet to go in yet; she wants to make sure it's not a trap. She's also been curious about learning more about crews, but any investigation she's done has been under a false name, in a wig, thanks very much.
Looking For: What I am looking for RIGHT NOW is:
1. General CR, naturally! Kitty is charming and confident and outgoing. At this point in time, she's too suspicious and nervous to really get to know anyone on a deep level, but I'd love to handwave or establish some superficial, light-hearted friendships.
2. Stuff that will lay down the groundwork for her direction in the future. Kitty, being Kitty, might end up going a few different ways: she might get suspicious of the Council and start digging into them and their actions; she might join a crew and work with unplugging people; she might train hard and return to her own world and use what she knows about the Matrix to overthrow her own government. People in positions of authority (ships' captains, people who are known to take part in extraction runs, anyone with political/council-granted authority) might find her lurking around them, either stalking their conversations on the network or actually having her follow them in person. I'd love to have her actually speak with them and build up relationships with them.
3. Mages!!! Kitty hates magic, HHHHHATES magic, and it will take her a while to understand that magic here isn't like magic in her home. She will get vicious and self-righteous towards mages so hard.
4. People with information about stuff. She wants to learn everything, she wants literally everything poured into her brain.
5. Extraction CR!!! Obviously, Kitty is pretty new to here, so just about anyone could have extracted her. She'd automatically be pretty fiercely loyal to whoever did that, so if any crews want a teenager who will stan for them from here to eternity we can work out the details.
Notes: She'll be going by a few different aliases! Never by Kitty Jones, because at home Kitty Jones is a wanted criminal and she's still suspicious that there aren't informants out here for her home Matrix. Her primary alias is Lizzie; that's what she's known as at the restaurant.

Horse eats like her namesake, so she's probably a patron-- especially if she gets a ZDG discount. Tony too, although he'd probably pay with services, repairing the equipment etc.

Character name: matt murdock
Canon: daredevil/marvel cinematic universe
Job/Role: freeloading.
General Reputation: i doubt matt would have much of anything yet. he's very new, but also frighteningly determined to push through recovery as fast as possible. breaking points, what are those, how do they work, etc. other than that, he's keeping to himself, struggling with truly breaking from the matrix while also getting his bearings in the real. fun stuff!
Looking For: all of it. though more specifically, anyone who was part of the crew that plucked him out of his matrix, anyone involved in recovery, etc. basically anyone who has been in on the ground floor of matt getting his feet under him. also other marvel people, hey, hi, hello.
apart from that, i'm really open to all of the cr. come at me, bros.

i'm not sure if bucky is experienced enough at this point to have helped extract matt but definitely he would be curious about new person from their matrix! he doesn't like the rehab area but he might casually stalk the newbie or something once matt is out of physical therapy?? let's have cr.
also idk what your long-term plans are or if matt would be interested in investigating zion corruption, but jack could be an interesting sometimes-adversary someday maybe?? he is not the most sterling of politicians. although he's yet to murder anybody with a car door, so there's that.

Character name: Jack Benjamin
Canon: Kings
Job/Role: Political aide to Aries, former operative
General Reputation: Jack has been out of the spotlight for a few months, busy on diplomatic assignment in Antioch, but he has been one of Aries’s aides for about a year, and in that time has developed a reputation as a charmer who does actually get things done. It’s easy to spot that Jack comes from a privileged upbringing in his matrix, a crown prince to be exact, but he comes off as something of a mockery of his own stereotype, prone to sarcasm and quick to self-depreciate. Though he may not always seem like it, he is serious about his political goals, and there are rumors he’s a bit vicious when crossed.
Prior to politics, Jack started his career in the ZDG, as an operative specializing in cultural assimilation and political maneuvering. About a year ago half his crew was killed by machines, their captain included, and Jack was generally credited with leading the survivors to safety with some degree of heroics. (The reality is more complicated, but also a secret.) His surviving crew mates seem genuinely fond of him for some reason and he’s known to show less flippant dedication to the well-being of ZDG soldiers.
Less known but certainly not unknown is the fact that Jack is haphazardly religious, with a quiet interest in collecting matrix code for early Judaic artifacts and iterations of Torah. (Basically, if you have or can get something like that, it’s not hard to get pointed his direction for a trade.) On the flip side, he is a generous patron of Zion’s entertainment industry, which is to say he would frequently crawl into a nightclub-shaped hole to die if he could, and in Zion tends to seek out its nearest not-really-equivalents with regularity, although he rarely participates so much as drinks and watches.

Character name: Felix Alexuis (AKA "Blight")
Canon: Dragon Age
Job/Role: Technician
General Reputation: Freed from the Matrix three years ago, Blight spent a long time in a hospital after it was discovered that a sickness that had affected him in his Matrix was actually coding the machines placed in his mind. After intense treatment and testing, he was cleared for duty.
The programming in his head gives him the ability to download new skill sets at a faster speed, which makes him ideal for short term or recon missions. However, after spending more than a few hours in the Matrix, he starts to exhibit signs of his illness again.
When not on short term missions, he makes his way as a friendly but quiet technician, mostly focused on helping the average citizen live as comfortably as possible by fixing their appliances and air vents.
Most average citizens don't know about the coding the machines put into his mind. Only officers of ships he may have served on and the doctors who worked on him know about it, and the information is largely kept classified. Blight is considered safe, but there still is a concern about the panic the knowledge that the machines are tampering with people's minds might cause.
To most people, Blight is just a kind, friendly guy who tries to do his best for his neighbors but also mostly keeps to himself. He's friendly enough, but prone to spend most of his time in his quarters unless on call.
Looking For: Anything! Especially, people who can get on his good side and that he can trust. It will be fun to play out the fact that he has a bit of an identity crisis over what has been done to him, but that will only happen with close friends.
Notes: None yet! Looking forward to playing with you all!
