As new players and characters arrive, they can hash out connections that came before their game play begins, as well as plot out new game play. General Reputation:

Around Zion, Tony is known for having been unplugged for a year and demonstrated remarkable mental acuity with technology, despite some suspicion that he's downplaying it. The Council has reportedly approached him a few times for something with regard to the Zion Defense Grid, which isn't very surprising considering the unplugged have a certain niche. What is probably slightly more noticeable is that he's diligently avoided all such attempts, in favor of meddling with crop and construction machines, and designing simulations and (non-intelligent) programs for civilians. Rumor has it that he's jacked in to the Matrix only once in the past year.

As of last month, he is contracting his services to the ZDG to assist with teaching operator trainees. It's certainly a far cry from enlisting, but it constitutes a surprising change for anyone who has been following his career. Lately, he has also made it known to anyone with network access, that he spies on the Council periodically. He's more or less behaving as a whistleblower, though certainly falling short of treason. These two events may well be related.

Looking For:

Training new operators: not a patient teacher, but perhaps an entertaining one. Code-teaching is boring to read, I imagine, but study breaks, farewells, and banter could be fun!
Barter relationships: he makes his living day-to-day by offering repair (and programming, invention, etc.) services for goods and other services. Tony is most often interested in scrap metal and parts, but he needs everything from food to drawing materials, alcohol, music, artwork, clothing, and information. Information about what, you say! Technology in your Matrix, what the Councilor's services might've bought from you, pictures of the new cables the ZDG is laying down, name it.
Drankin: a vice that Tony's better about controlling these days, but a vice nonetheless.
The car: he has one, collaboratively built by himself and Dean Winchester. It's a troubled old clunker, a rusted fuel-electric hybrid cobbled together from parts, four seat, and tops out at around 30 MPH. It is the only passenger vehicle in Zion for the time-being. Not impressive by the standards of 21st century Earth, it's nonetheless a remarkable feat of restoration. He can be seen zooming around, refining it, and breaking down often enough, and he offers people rides to test it out.

YOU KNOW I could change a bit in the post I made of you want Tony and Lily to have a little bit of history. She's been in Zion a year longer than him but now that I think about it it's unlikely that they would have never crossed paths. XD

That's true, I imagine they have crossed paths! He has a bad/intermittent/pretend bad memory though so he can easily pretend that they've never met before, which can maybe excuse their network interaction.

I imagine he knows he's around. She definitely seems like she'd be a useful asset, with her medical skills and willingness to go under the table. He'd definitely be interested in her sticky fingers, and to know her Council contacts. Maybe this is the 2nd or 3rd time he's put out feelers? He doesn't really get mixed up in Irkalla stuff, but he'd be curious about what she thinks about it and how it affects general attitudes, the black market, etc.

Maybe at some point, if he builds something cool, he'll try to use her as a fence!

So my thoughts on tony & hawke, aside from the fact that combined they make up a pro skateboarder, are that they'd either get along like a house on fire , or like "wooooah that house is really on fire, u gaise," and I want to know which! Hawke's going to be inevitably fascinated by cars, So there's that. There is also drankin although that's less a vice for Hawke and more his matrix didn't so much have clean water

Yes I'm all about making this CR happen! All the fires and every home! Except maybe not literally for awhile because we don't have a Machine invasion/wholesale destruction of Zion scheduled for a little while.

Dranks. Missions. Dranks. I suddenly forget who you're crewing with but maybe Tony would even want to hire them at some point and we could do Matrixy things together too. Tony awkwardly riding a horse while Hawke knows exactly how.

Job/Role: Sex Worker/'Socialite', Operative (Shangrila/welcome wagoner primarily)

General Reputation:

In the 4 years since he was unplugged, William has gained an odd reputation that probably couldn't exist in a culture less socially liberal than Zion. He is a sex worker, who dabbles in socialite and charitable works on the side. He spends the majority of his time with Nero Jumane, an influential merchant who often hires hovercrews to move cargo between cities, with whom he has had a regularly-renewed arrangement of some years. Though he's generally kept out of the business side of things, he has been known to feature and put in a good word for whomever he likes.

The rest of his time, he spends throwing parties, bleeding goods and trade at the bazaar or card tables, visiting the Temples, accompanying other clientele (usually men), and helping out aboard the Shangrila. He may be one of the first faces that the unplugged ever see, and his story of that one time he blew an unnamed Captain on his command chair from under the nav console may have a memorable melancholy undertone to it. He really isn't very bright, but he's one of Zion's happier citizens. but/therefore, take your pick.

Looking For:

Throw a party: it'll be awesome. I'M NOT SURE WHat kind, maybe a boat race in the reservoir as homage to the Dragon Boat Festival, traditionally late May to early June.
Friends: he's friendly.
Sex work: although he has a primary client, the NPC described above, he does engage others less regularly. He accepts all kinds of gifts, from trinkets to information. Most often, he does dudes, but he enjoys the company of women as well. He has an affectionate tack. I don't mind RPing some sex! However, I'm most interested in the sometimes odd, sometimes whimsical premises (i.e., I had an idea where they'd bang on canvas w food-safe paint at some point, hilarity ensues), pillow talk, etc.
Export brokering: Said primary client, Nero Jumane, is a major exporter in Zion. Though William isn't officially part of the business, Nero is susceptible to influence from him-- as such, I'd be happy to build CR with crews wanting to make money off running (generally legal) goods between cities and other 'grey area' type deeds. Jumane is also involved in human smuggling, specifically refugees from Irkalla. We can plot about it!
Manipulation/scandal: William's dumbness makes him vulnerable. I would be happy to see him duped, politicked, lied to, or taken advantage of in storyful ways. I would definitely like his economic connections (above) to factor in here. Note, Mr. Jumane is also suffering from gradual onset dementia, so that might be a scandal worth your exploitation at some point too.

hMMM would it be cool if we maybe handwaved Anders going to William for sex. mmmaybe like. twice in his entire two years unplugged. with the understanding that since he has his Significant Other now unplugged and I'm not really here for cheating/drama it wouldn't be an actual thing we'd RP, but could be the jumping off point for friendship and intimacy?

alternately, in his canon Anders basically checks and treats all the prostitutes (and anyone else who asks) for VD/STIs, so while he's not quite as zippity capable without magic that could also be a basis for acquaintanceship?

basically I want these two to be something. friends? depending on how the dynamic actually plays out.

Although maybe we could do both! I'm sure there's turnover with doctors and such, it wouldn't be that odd for William to need to find someone new for his checkups. If Anders wouldn't find it weird after they'd had sex before, then William wouldn't either.

He wouldn't at all! so my vote is definitely both. I know you have a full plate and an upcoming hiatus but if I tossed up some kind of starter in Anders' log would you be interested in that? it could be slice of lifey or we could plot out something to actually happen. Anders knows zero things about boat racing but maybe he can help with the party somehow?

I don't mind slice of life. As for things happening the boat race sounds great! Maybe they can find out one of the boat teams is sabotaging other boat teams a bit. William could get very exclamatory and try to punch someone.

no that's what i mean. idk if you would like to have something established or new?? jack remains intense about discretion despite that being almost completely unnecessary in zion, which could be a point of minor conflict maybe?? also he's. a big dramatic baby, u kno, i'm sure we could stir up interpersonal drama somewhere at some point if desired. in any case: potential client.

jack may also be interested in william for his refugee-smuggling contacts actually, he is very, very quietly in favor of accepting refugees and maybe even eventual reunification with irkalla. idk that he'd be willing to stick his neck out anywhere public but if he has access to useful information he might be willing to pass it along via william in exchange for someone's soul/first born child/future favors/other useful information.

I'd be very happy for all these hooks :D pls let us do the thing. The client-sw relationship would be great, I have no super strong preference for either established or new-- do you? But definitely a little conflict, even if it'd take time for William's fuzzy brain to figure out why he's vaguely bothered by Jack's secrecy, and even then he's very bad at articulating abstractions like 'principle.' Drama would be good.

Also down for the smuggling and Irkalla stuff. I hope to run such plots soon! Cass' salt will start to constitute our Irkalla presence anyway.

▶ BASHIRA 'HORSE' TAIKO

Job/Role: APU Personnel, Dockhand, Operator (temporary ban/demotion)

General Reputation: Horse is a military brat, who acts-- according to many-- well below the circumstances of her relatively (Zion, u no) privileged family. She is loud, bored, distractible, confrontational, flirtatious, ideologically bankrupt, and seems physically incapable of taking things very seriously outside of work. Within work, she is extremely skilled in reading code and hovercrewing. However, her professional history is checkered with tragedy and scandal: her first long-term ship assignment was destroyed by Irkallan pirates. A decade later, her latest crew actively pursued and destroyed an Irkallan ship, killing an unknown number of civilian refugees aboard.

Understandably, she was downgraded to Armored Personnel Units (APU), and features quite commonly welcoming ships home through the massive gates of the dock. This has kept her out of trouble for all intents and purposes, except that she retains a notorious boner for starting shit with Irkallans. Renounced pirates, especially, have found themselves on the receiving end of unpremeditated but seemingly sincere murder attempts. Fortunately, none of them have been successful. A combination of crewmates, supervisors, and frankly-- prevailing public sentiment have kept her out of imprisonment. Underneath it all, she has a strong sense of community and gives a fair number of shits about the welfare of mankind or whatever.

Looking For:

Friends: who will get nicknames that sometimes become call signs. Join her, and you too shall spar and dance and bet on cigarette burns, turn training into competitive pushups/boxing/suddenly parkour, find yourself serenaded in mediocre guitar and broken French at random lunchtimes or your hands mysteriously dyed magenta while you're sleeping or confronted with cool weird food from Antioch or swapping shirts just for the day or pinched or practicing 80's dance moves in the middle of the mess hall or suddenly: lifted and carried at a screaming sprint or bday hookers or periodically have your head bitten gently to demonstrate how wide she can open her mouth. Really wide btw.

idk if MJ and Kay are still doing their natives, but Seoraj is related to them y? The NPC who died ~10 years ago in pirate raid was supposed to be my connection to them, their dad, so maybe that person is also Seoraj's relative now too?
