Welcome to our second CR Meme!

We have amended our original plans so that the CR meme will be posted every 2 months. As new players and characters arrive, they can hash out connections that came before their game play begins, as well as plot out new game play. Specifically, this could also be a good venue to find ship crews that are looking for new crew mates, and for prospective crew mates to find new ship crews.

Job/Role: APU Personnel, Dockhand, Operator (temporary ban/demotion)

General Reputation: Horse is a military brat, who acts-- according to many-- well below the circumstances of her relatively (Zion, u no) privileged family. She is loud, bored, distractible, confrontational, flirtatious, ideologically bankrupt, and seems physically incapable of taking things very seriously outside of work. Within work, she is extremely skilled in reading code and hovercrewing. However, her professional history is checkered with tragedy and scandal: her first long-term ship assignment was destroyed by Irkallan pirates. A decade later, her latest crew actively pursued and destroyed an Irkallan ship, killing an unknown number of civilian refugees aboard.

Understandably, she was downgraded to Armored Personnel Units (APU), and features quite commonly welcoming ships home through the massive gates of the dock. This has kept her out of trouble for all intents and purposes, except that she retains a notorious boner for starting shit with Irkallans. Renounced pirates, especially, have found themselves on the receiving end of unpremeditated but seemingly sincere murder attempts. Fortunately, none of them have been successful. A combination of crewmates, supervisors, and frankly-- prevailing public sentiment have kept her out of imprisonment. Underneath it all, she has a strong sense of community and gives a fair number of shits about the welfare of mankind or whatever.

Looking For:

• Friends: who will get nicknames that sometimes become call signs. Join her, and you too shall spar and dance and bet on cigarette burns, turn training into competitive pushups/boxing/suddenly parkour, find yourself serenaded in mediocre guitar and broken French at random lunchtimes or your hands mysteriously dyed magenta while you're sleeping or confronted with cool weird food from Antioch or swapping shirts just for the day or pinched or practicing 80's dance moves in the middle of the mess hall or suddenly: lifted and carried at a screaming sprint or bday hookers or periodically have your head bitten gently to demonstrate how wide she can open her mouth. Really wide btw.

That's true, I imagine they have crossed paths! He has a bad/intermittent/pretend bad memory though so he can easily pretend that they've never met before, which can maybe excuse their network interaction.

I imagine he knows he's around. She definitely seems like she'd be a useful asset, with her medical skills and willingness to go under the table. He'd definitely be interested in her sticky fingers, and to know her Council contacts. Maybe this is the 2nd or 3rd time he's put out feelers? He doesn't really get mixed up in Irkalla stuff, but he'd be curious about what she thinks about it and how it affects general attitudes, the black market, etc.

Maybe at some point, if he builds something cool, he'll try to use her as a fence!

HAY William is a sex worker who sometimes engages dudes and he actually had occasional encounters w previous-Dorian, though we didn't end up threading. Would u liek a case of mistaken identity and to be publically hayyd at and squeezed and blithered at for five minutes until your confusion sinks in and hes like 'o'

AHEM also I play Horse, who is a military lifer. If you'd like to get hooked in to that, I'd love to do so through her. She isn't currently assigned to a crew herself, but she's very invested in the Grid, so she'd happily sell him the lifestyle in her own way. Which will probably just involve a lot of weird pranks and loud comments and alcohol and a pretty red flower being slotted into his headjack.

Hahaha based on what I have observed of him, this seems accurate. Maybe 60-40? She enjoys goofballs as long as she's not worried the goofball-dom as long as it's paired with actually doing one's job. She's definitely a lot more mellow when it's not over text. Let's toss them at each other at the crew meet-and-greet and see what happens.

EDIT: OOps i forgot yes also William. He's not a very teacherlike teacher so they could definitely hang, party, talk about their respective worlds in a more personal way than Tony is inclined tbh. Job/Role: Would-be pilot.

General Reputation: Depends on who you ask. About a year and change ago, he had the unfortunate luck to be on a ZDG crew that was dismantled due to bad practice and civilian deaths when they wrongfully engaged a pirate hovercraft full of refugees. He went by the terrible callsign of 'Bolt' at the time and didn't make his identity well known. Regardless, he left for Antioch to restart, focusing on hard labour for the express purpose of grounding himself as well as building back his strength. He also got some sweet tattoos.

And learned how to pilot! He is pretty good, by now. Gotta fly somehow.

Looking For: Past CR for anyone with an Antioch tie in and possibly brief ZDG encounters (or people who have heard about the Incident). I have vague designs to join the Atalanta. But anyone, really, come at me.

Notes: I have left it vague the means of which he enters the game. There are designs for canon mates to dig him up from where he is buried (I've approached Natasha player already!) or otherwise a short stay in Zion turns into a longer one due to friendship. If you'd like to have an in, there, due to Avengers or Antioch connections, feel free to lift a hand.

Canon: Edge of Tomorrow
Job/Role: First Officer

General Reputation: He probably comes across as someone who should be more popular than he is, in terms of serving up a ready dose of courtesy and friendliness in most interactions. He has been amongst the free human population for three years, now, which is not very long in comparison to some, but scaled a quick promotion after two years of service, the circumstances surrounding it being questionable. It's probably known that he has a military background, and is familiar with the kind of war they live in, that being of humankind against something else. Which were probably just programmes, anyway.

He also trains new people, both in Matrix combat as well as maybe some basics, like using the ZDG standard issue weaponry. His disposition makes him a good candidate for people-dealing, even if there is a teflon quality to his soul.

Looking For: I would love some established CR, both from people who have been in Zion for some time as well as those who are slightly new. Perhaps you met him during training, or he assisted in your extraction, or they've frequented the same social outlet, or they've done a tour together, or or or. Both professional as well as casual CR is welcome.

He avoids very much talking about where he came from but I wouldn't mind touching on this one day in a sharing war stories capacity.

I would also be interested in developing more inter-crew dynamics on the Nidhoggr, probably in the context of little missions like the low clearance kind seen on the Mission Control page.

Yes to this for William as well! I think she'd probably get the lay of the land a little before suggesting stuff for the Atalanta proactively, but I can definitely see that as being a possibility in the slightly longer term, especially if she and William get chummy.

Job/Role: Dock crew. Dockhand? Part time tattooist.

General Reputation: New to the Zion scene, having lived in Kosala prior to arrival, Benji has picked up work on the Dock as an apprentice mechanic, basically in the interests of being useful. She is quiet, friendly (despite an impressive resting bitch face), sometimes gets underfoot by accident, means well, and so on.

She is interactive in the civilian sphere too, armed with a tattoo gun as a means of trading with a finer quality of goods. She has interests in the local spiritual practices and education, and kind of drifts in and out of these worlds.

Looking For: Some consistent friends, both handwaved CR and new. I'm not thinking too big with her, yet, but in the future, I have designs for her to get some operative and operator training.

Notes: I do not have much in the way of future plans! She is a quiet and shy person, but likes people and conversation well enough, so I try to balance that against finding hooks to talk about. I will also note that her gender identity is a little closety at this time and lists androgynous often, especially around intimidating military settings, so misgendering happens, but not being sure happens too. Let me know if you have query.

not to saddle you with cr of dorians gone by, by benji registered dorian as a nice sort of person who was nice to her as well as hilarious. gideon and she move in similar spheres, so perhaps yet another case of mistaken identity and see how that goes?

alternatively, she could sort of know he's not actually the dorian she knew and approach more clean slate-ish, that is equally feasible! but i am def here for some slice of life bullshit.
