Welcome to our second CR Meme!

We have amended our original plans so that the CR meme will be posted every 2 months. As new players and characters arrive, they can hash out connections that came before their game play begins, as well as plot out new game play. Specifically, this could also be a good venue to find ship crews that are looking for new crew mates, and for prospective crew mates to find new ship crews.

General Reputation: Rocket's reputation is a secret.

Rocket has been unplugged for four whole years, but unlike all you rubes in Zion, he was unplugged by a pirate crew from Irkalla and spent all of those four years living and working in Pirate City USA. This living situation was partly by choice, partly because the crew that unplugged him didn't want their new acquisition just skipping town, and partly because what the hell else was he going to do. He went by his call sign/pirate nickname (Stripes) (don't you say a god damn word), and did a lot of miscellaneous crime-related stuff--piloting, smuggling, tricking out hovercrafts for pirates, building weapons, etc etc. "Stripes" earned himself a small level of notoriety doing this kind of work.

But then Rocket pissed off the wrong captain and it was time to get the hell outta Dodge, so he has very recently smuggled himself into Zion and is living under the name Rocket. Living in what passes for the underbelly of Zion, he does tech stuff, repairs, and under-the-table modifications. If people ask him about when he was unplugged he has a sudden coughing fit.

Also he looks like Bradley Cooper.

Looking For:
- ANYTHING. Which I know is the worst answer but he is so very new that I'll take it all. I plan to make a post (probably today!) and I want to collect as many CRs as possible.
- People interested in tech! Tech and engineering is his business. You want something built, he can build it. He also doesn't mind skirting the law to do so. And--for now!--he'll do it kind of cheap.
- Eventually I'm going to work him back into smuggling/crime/etc - but of the more honest variety. Anyone interested in that kind of stuff, look me up.

General Reputation: Arthur is quick-minded and working to get his body back to where it was. He's excellent with details and has dedicated himself to learning and adjusting to his new life. He's a hard worker, stiff and serious when there's work to be done, but he can clock out when he's on his own time. Outwardly, he seems oddly well-adjusted about being unplugged, cracking jokes and making friends.

Unlike many people, who come out of rehab still very bald and thin, Arthur spent several months in a psychiatric ward. It's not something he would advertise, but anyone who was extracted around the time he was (about five months ago) might have heard or seen his erratic behavior. He spent several months there where he started to work on getting his muscles and dexterity back and so by the time he was out and living on his own, he didn't look nearly as new as he was to the city.

While the name Arthur has slipped out a few times and isn't a well-kept secret, he very resolutely goes by his callsign "Point".

Looking For: I would love to find characters who don't mind pushing back at Arthur or even pressing his buttons and building up some banter. In general, friends and allies would be great, maybe even some flirtations. Antagonistic rivalries could also be something fun to play with.

His biggest struggle is accepting that this is reality and while he is outwardly playing along, he's only about half sure that it is. That's something I really want to explore with him and I would love to find characters who might have similar struggles or who would compliment the situation.

I also want him to go on some missions and really put his skills to the test.

Crowley

Character name: Crowley
Canon: Supernatural
Job/Role: Tailor Extraordinaire

General Reputation: Crowley's bartered and favored his way into setting up a little tailoring business. He'll be the first to admit that he's still working on his dexterity, but that's only because he's proud that it's getting better every day and he gets faster every day.

Tailoring isn't the only thing he's got his hand on, though. In fact he's starting to try to dip his toes into the black market trades. He was a tailor in his life in the Matrix, but in his death, he was the ultimate salesman of sin. If he can sell dreams to men for a one way trip to Hell, surely he can sell contraband to a desperate city with the same silver tongue.

There's a good chance that he's flirted with half the people he's met and there's a good chance that he was serious about it. He has a tendency to be overtly sexual in the way he speaks, especially when it's inappropriate.

Looking For: Crowley doesn't really do friends, but friendly acquaintances and allies would be great, especially characters who might have black market or other criminal dealings. He's very explicitly looking for sexual partners of either gender and I would love to establish some CR with that, either hand-waving a one night stand or something more.

He's mostly interested in people when they can do something for him, whether it's that he finds them entertaining or that they can further him in some way, and he's happy to return the favor. Crowley is a man of his word and he values that. (Except when it's inconvenient)

As he spent a very long time believing himself to be a demon and justifying his actions by that, I would also like to find him CR that may have a similar struggle or maybe even CR that doesn't struggle at all to contrast Crowley's guilt.

So my thoughts on tony & hawke, aside from the fact that combined they make up a pro skateboarder, are that they'd either get along like a house on fire , or like "wooooah that house is really on fire, u gaise," and I want to know which! Hawke's going to be inevitably fascinated by cars, So there's that. There is also drankin although that's less a vice for Hawke and more his matrix didn't so much have clean water

General Reputation: Kate has been unplugged for about 5 years, and has worked as an operative for the ZDG for nearly all of that time. She worked hard and she worked a lot and it has recently paid off as she was named one of the two new captains and handed her very own midweight warship full of newbs. She's also spent some of her downtime between jaunts helping with training (both in and out of matrix combat, primarily) and occasionaly unofficial local law enforcement in Zion (read: vigilante superheroing stuff).

Looking For: I owe a bunch of people log posts right now, mostly related to the new ship. I'm definitely looking to get crew RP going, maybe get a low clearance mission under our belt. In-Matrix RP needs to happen also, preferably with dragons?? Aside from that I'd like to solidify Kate's ties in Zion and better sketch out her other cr from training, neighbors, friends, side-projects, things not so ZDG-focused. I don't have a lot of specific wants right now, but I'm always open to ideas!

Job/Role: Pirate

General Reputation: "Lexa" doesn't really have a reputation because she hasn't used that name since she was unplugged 6ish years ago. She's gone by Heda, and Heda has a reputation as one of Irkalla's most ruthlessly successful pirate captains, though outside that city not much is known about her, since she has a habit of having various crewmembers pretend to be captain when they board a ship, just to keep people guessing. So the chances of people knowing her on sight are very slim unless they have worked with pirates.

She'll be coming to Zion pretending to be "Anya," who is supposedly a crewmember of Heda's, and claiming to be a representative who has business with the Council on her behalf.

Looking For: Does your character hate Irkallans? Think they're unfairly maligned? Curious what an Irkallan even is? Are they recently unplugged and think pirates are awesome? Into shady business and looking to get deeper? Anti-Alliance? Rabidly Pro-Alliance? These would all be good reasons to be interested in "Anya".

If you character is from Irkalla, particularly from the pirate community there, they may know each other. Maybe they've worked together, maybe they get along okay, maybe they don't and now you know the secret of her identity and she may have to kill you. Options! Those who are connected in to the Irkallan civilian population may also know her as someone who smuggles refugees out, and is one of the captains who are in favor of supporting the civilian population instead of oppressing them so terribly.

Notes: I know, the name thing is probably weird and confusing. We'll see how long I can take it before making up a reason to make it simpler.

Speaking of information, did Kate ever get around to telling him that dog cops was a tv show and not an actual thing in her matrix?

ALSO more helpfully, information broker: Kate was on the Durga, so maybe he and Stephen can approach her to try to learn more about what happened with that mission and Naero being dead and all of that? She and Stephen know each other already but she finds him mostly harmless and might be willing to chat. Worth a try?

General Reputation: She doesn't have much of a reputation as of yet. She bounced back very quickly from being unplugged, physically and mentally, but she's a kid still, so that's not all that unusual. She took up work pretty much right away at a restaurant in Zion, and so that's how many people might have seen her: she's highly competent and friendly and quite charming, both willing to take and to give guff to her customers. However, she would have squirmed out of any attempts to get to know her better - e.g., hanging out outside of work, even learning anything about her background.

She also has been sniffing around the sim-stations, but has yet to go in yet; she wants to make sure it's not a trap. She's also been curious about learning more about crews, but any investigation she's done has been under a false name, in a wig, thanks very much.

Looking For: What I am looking for RIGHT NOW is:
1. General CR, naturally! Kitty is charming and confident and outgoing. At this point in time, she's too suspicious and nervous to really get to know anyone on a deep level, but I'd love to handwave or establish some superficial, light-hearted friendships.

2. Stuff that will lay down the groundwork for her direction in the future. Kitty, being Kitty, might end up going a few different ways: she might get suspicious of the Council and start digging into them and their actions; she might join a crew and work with unplugging people; she might train hard and return to her own world and use what she knows about the Matrix to overthrow her own government. People in positions of authority (ships' captains, people who are known to take part in extraction runs, anyone with political/council-granted authority) might find her lurking around them, either stalking their conversations on the network or actually having her follow them in person. I'd love to have her actually speak with them and build up relationships with them.

3. Mages!!! Kitty hates magic, HHHHHATES magic, and it will take her a while to understand that magic here isn't like magic in her home. She will get vicious and self-righteous towards mages so hard.

4. People with information about stuff. She wants to learn everything, she wants literally everything poured into her brain.

5. Extraction CR!!! Obviously, Kitty is pretty new to here, so just about anyone could have extracted her. She'd automatically be pretty fiercely loyal to whoever did that, so if any crews want a teenager who will stan for them from here to eternity we can work out the details.

Notes: She'll be going by a few different aliases! Never by Kitty Jones, because at home Kitty Jones is a wanted criminal and she's still suspicious that there aren't informants out here for her home Matrix. Her primary alias is Lizzie; that's what she's known as at the restaurant.

lexa could def have known. the pirate side of the story is someone who was smuggling out some irkallan civilians to other lesser settlements, so a mix of 'well he had it coming' and 'goddamn zdg'.
